A Day on the Organic Farm – Nature, Tradition, and Creativity

How does a day on a farm amidst Finnish forest nature, fields, and lake views sound? Welcome to explore Savola Farm in Lappajärvi! On our organic farm, we grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers in the open fields. You’ll also get the chance to pet our lovely sheep and ponies.

Our farm has been owned by the same family since 1583, and we are the 17th farming couple to take care of it. Our yard is soon to be complemented by a 200-year-old log house—this will be the third location for this beautiful house, built from durable materials. It is now our time to preserve its history and create a new story around it—together with our guests!

During the day, we’ll take a walking tour through the forest and fields and explore the plants we grow. We’ll collect herbs to brew tea or gather flowers to make our own bouquet. After the walk, the old log house will welcome us for a nature-themed workshop.

In the workshop, considering the group’s preferences and the season, we can create a personal product, such as a wreath, artwork, or natural cosmetics. Creativity and hands-on activities bring joy, empowerment, refreshment, a sense of participation, and memorable experiences.

After the workshop, we’ll enjoy Finnish berry pie and freshly brewed herbal tea.
