Kojamo
Lapland’s oldest town, Tornio, which for a long time held the title of the world’s northernmost city, celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2021.
The sculpture for the anniversary, a massive steel salmon statue named Kojamo, was unveiled during a live broadcast at Nordberg’s quay. The artwork, symbolizing two important aspects of the city—salmon and steel—was well received by the audience present. Kojamo is a creation by the artist duo Pekka and Teija Isorättyä.
