Golf in the Heart of the Lappajärvi Crater Lake Geopark

What sets Järviseudun Golf apart is the unforgettable journey between the front and back nine – a ride across the Lappajärvi crater lake on a paddlewheel ferry!

Järviseudun Golf is not only the sole golf course in Finland with this feature but possibly the only one in the world where your round begins with a ferry ride across a crater lake – a lake created by a meteorite 78 million years ago. The clubhouse, located at the tip of the beautiful peninsula of Nykälänniemi, serves as the starting point for this adventure.

Let us tell you more about the features on our golf course: On the front nine, you’ll navigate narrow and varied par-5 and par-4 fairways that challenge your tee shots and wood play amidst the rolling landscape. After completing the front nine, the ferry takes you back to Nykälänniemi, where yet new challenges awaits. The back nine features short par-3 holes with island greens and narrow dogleg par-4 holes that demand precision.

After the round and back in the clubhouse you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal in a captivating setting. The clubhouse restaurant is operated by Daniel’s Grillbar.

Järviseudun Golf also has a short game area where you can practice your shots before heading to the main course via the paddlewheel ferry. Additionally, there is a par-3 area for beginner golfers to practice.
