Borderless HaparandaTornio joins Visit Arctic Coast value network

At the northernmost point of Bothnian Bay Sweden and Finland share a border, naturally created by Torne River. Here you find a stomping ground where coast meets lush river valley landscapes. Four distinct seasons with icy cold winters and mild summers paint the landscape and offer a multitude of things to explore and experience. The local culture and heritage along Torne River are borderless and comes with a long history. Beautiful, isn’t it?

Tornio heard us call out for like-minded coastal destinations to join Visit Arctic Coast value network and we are happy to announce an agreement on co-operation with Business Tornio. We look forward to promoting the northernmost destination of the arctic coast of Finland!

Visit Arctic Coast is foremost the extension of Visit Kalajoki’s DMO profile. Our vision is to become the most attractive and responsible coastal area in Finland.

As we embark on this journey, we are calling to likeminded coastal Destination Management Organizations and travel companies with the expertise and will to develop together. We are also turning to Tour Operators who are interested in coastal year-round products and destinations.

Oulu and Helsinki Airports are accessible from most European cities. From Helsinki, there are domestic flights to Oulu, Kokkola, Vaasa and Kemi.
